Multi-instrumentalists Our influences are varied, but our main ones are: Pink Floyd, Metallica, Focus, Rhapsody of fire, Tom Jobin, Gentle Giant, Linkin Park, Jimi Hendrix, Classical musicians (Beethoven and Bach are the main ones), Jamiroquai, Avenged Sevenfold, Rage Against the machine, Queen, Funk (american one of course) and even some rap. I told you they were varied! We had this idea of isolating ourselves during one week to compose some songs. This suite is the result of this project. If you liked it, please share! I have a rack for the acoustic guitar that lets me augment my solo sound and use effects like echo on the voice plus harmony. I also do some split signal work to the guitar where I can have a clean sound mixed with some efx. Sunrise shows off some of all that. I call the rig “the band thing in a box”. Of note here is the use of a BOSS looper for the nature sounds, The VL4 Digitech harmony unit and the Gibson J160 where I have an undersaddle pick up as well as the neck pick up P 100 installed. Clean sound is from the undersaddle mic and the P100 goes through the on board (or on box) effects loops. This song channels Pink Floyd a bit (Echoes) and sounds a lot bigger than just one guitar – I think anyway. The Whiners used to support an Environment Day initiative in our local hood and this clip goes back a few years. Basically the band and friends provided a music soundtrack to the activities of the day. We used to try out stuff as well given we had a very transitory audience. Sometimes Whiners band mate, David Green arrives during the start up of the song – just so you know what that’s all about and I used to bill myself as KEITH with the all caps just to be stupid…. |

Where were you when I was burned and broken While the days slipped by from my window watching Where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless Because the things you say and the things you do surround me While you were hanging yourself on someone else’s words Dying to believe in what you heard I was staring straight into the shining sun Lost in thought and lost in time While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted Outside the rain fell dark and slow While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pasttime I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the moment had arrived For killing the past and coming back to life I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the waiting had begun And headed straight . . . into the shining sun Text: Pink Floyd Music: Myon and Shane 54 feat.
