David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) have achieved equal status in rock’s upper echelon. Both men are unrivaled legends, but to compare the two is like comparing apples and oranges. This video is not a comparison, but a tribute to the most amazing, innovative, versatile, brilliant guitarists in the world (in my world anyway). Both are my favorites … will never choose between them. Jimmy’s hardcore, kick-ass, frenetic edge rocks you to the core. David’s mellower, beautiful, ethereal, haunting style drags your soul along every note he bends. JP brings out your wild child; David makes it behave … they contradict each other like night and day, black and white. Also, the disparity in their stage personas is such a stark contrast. Watching JP is dizzying … like a telethon for hyperactive children, while David invariably remains in the same spot. On that note … it’s rather hard to imagine David driving a motorcycle through an Arizona restaurant in the early 1970s, scaring patrons half to death. After all, this is David and not exactly the kind of behavior one would expect from someone so stoic (watch out for those quiet types). Jimmy, on the other hand … well, no one has ever accused JP of being a choirboy, and not much would surprise most ;o) Aside from their astronomical talent, there aren’t many parallels to be drawn between David and JP because they are so vastly different. Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall (Part III) (Spanish Subtitles – Subtítulos en Español) The Wall 1979 “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 3)” es la duodécima canción en el álbum, y la penúltima del primer disco. La historia es el punto en que Pink decide acabar con su “muro” y queda completamente aislado del mundo, esta parte lírica se extiende en la canción “Goodbye Cruel World”. En la adaptación cinematográfica del álbum The Wall, esta canción sirve de fondo a una especie de retrospectiva de la vida acelerada de Pink con escenas intercaladas de los disturbios. Se cierra con una visión del propio muro, enorme y amenazante en la oscuridad. Composición La canción está en Re menor (Dm), en cuatro tiempos (4/4) pero con un ritmo de rock muy violento, a diferencia de las dos primeras partes, que fueron relativamente tranquilas en comparación a la misma. La canción está muy cerca de ser un hard rock y la voz del cantante se convierte en feroz. En el demo del álbum de 1978, The Wall Under Construction, la canción es menos hard rock y no contiene ninguna batería. La letra original difiere a la de la versión final. En la historia, el muro está casi terminado, como resultado de la ira que siente por el engaño de su esposa. Llega a la conclusión que ya no necesita nada, viendo a las personas en su vida como “just bricks in the wall” (“sólo ladrillos en el muro”). Esta canción es seguida por “Goodbye Cruel World”, que habla de la realización del muro y el aislamiento mental total ……
