music project by uk based singer/songwriter rob matthew redhead DRIFTWOOD land of constant change there are men who will try and change us, nail themselves to the root of the land, excepting nothing from no-one, forever blind.. holding on with both hands.. swim in the waves that rush through the town, stare into the seas of nightmare.. swim in the land of constant change… there are those who will try to preach to us, that the lord is the only light we will see, and the threads of our being will always be there.. and the sun will always rise out from the sea.. swim in the waves that rush through the town, stare into the seas of nightmare.. swim in the land of constant change… big sky as i stare at you, wo’nt you give me an answer out from the blue, because the fire that i am breathing wo’nt stop moving, tell me that the journey wo’nt end this way.. swim in the waves that rush through the town, stare into the seas of nightmare.. swim in the land of constant change… swim in the land of constant change… swim in the land of constant change. words by robert matthew redhead 1993…. |

Lyrics: So, so you think you can tell heaven from hell, blue skys from pain. can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? a smile from a veil? do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade your heros for ghosts? hot ashes for trees? hot air for a cool breeze? cold comfort for change? and did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How i wish, how i wish you were here. we’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. what have we found? the same old fears. wish you were here…. |
