Pink floyd - comfortably numb - (live with one of the greatest guitar solo\'s of all time)

Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb recorded live. This has got to be one of the greatest guitar solo’s of all time, played by the incredible David Gilmour. Pink Floyd were an English rock band that achieved international success with their progressive and psychedelic rock music marked by the use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, and elaborate live shows. One of the most commercially successful and influential rock groups in the history of popular music, they have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States. In 1996 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band originally consisted of university students Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and Syd Barrett. Founded in 1965, they gained popularity performing in London’s underground music scene during the late 1960s. Under Barrett’s creative leadership they released two charting singles, “Arnold Layne” and “See Emily Play”, and a successful début album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). Guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour joined as a fifth member in December 1967, several months prior to Barrett’s April 1968 departure due to deteriorating mental health. With the loss of Syd, the band moved from psychedelic pop to a more progressive sound, with many tracks written collaboratively while on tour. With this line-up they achieved critical and commercial success with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here ……

Great live guitar solos – part 2: paul personne, david gilmour (x2)

Great live guitar solos - part 2: paul personne, david gilmour (x2)

This is another tribute to all amazing guitar players and all great guitar solos. It’s not a Top List of any kind. No competition. Just listen to the good music and all great solos. My first version of Part 2, with an amazing guitar solo by Prince at Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Introduction for George Harrison 2004 was blocked. That’s why there are 2 solos with David Gilmour. For me personally, fast moving fingers don’t impress me the most. Feeling and to have the ability to create a new melody to a song are the qualities I appreciate the most. A few conditions had to be fulfilled for each video to qualify: It had to be a live performance and both the sound and picture quality had to be at least descent, especially the sound. Maybe that’s why you wouldn’t find your favorite guitar player yet, such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and many others. If you have any suggestions, give me a tip. I don’t own any copyright to this. It’s not really HD quality. In part 2 you’ll find solos from following guitar players: Paul Personne, Live 2006 David Gilmour, Pink Floyd at Pulse 1994…

David gilmour: the voice of pink floyd

David gilmour: the voice of pink floyd

David Gilmour is a stratospherically talented guitarist; however, this aspect of his career tends to overshadow the fact that he is also terrific vocalist. To most fans, David’s is the preferred voice of Pink Floyd. Calming and beautifully haunting, in four decades David’s voice has held up incredibly well. No real difference exists between David singing in 2006 vs. 1969 … his voice is slightly deeper, but its clarity has remained virtually unchanged! David’s voice is perfect for rocking babies to sleep due to its lullaby effect — it’s true; just ask any mom. Songs in this video, set to various nature scenes, are as follows (please note that David is singing main vocals as well as harmonies, via multi-tacking): 1969: Cymbaline 1970: Fat Old Sun 1970: Embryo 1972: Wot’s the Deal 1973: Breathe 1973: Us and Them 1979: Hey You 1979: Mother 1979: Comfortably Numb 1987: On the Turning Away…
