Pink Floyd were an English rock band that achieved international success with their progressive and psychedelic rock music marked by the use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, and elaborate live shows. One of the most commercially successful and influential rock groups in the history of popular music, they have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States. In 1996 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band originally consisted of university students Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and Syd Barrett. Founded in 1965, they gained popularity performing in London’s underground music scene during the late 1960s. Under Barrett’s creative leadership they released two charting singles, “Arnold Layne” and “See Emily Play”, and a successful début album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). Guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour joined as a fifth member in December 1967, several months prior to Barrett’s April 1968 departure due to deteriorating mental health. With the loss of Syd, the band moved from psychedelic pop to a more progressive sound, with many tracks written collaboratively while on tour. With this line-up they achieved critical and commercial success with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here ……

This is the promo for Flat Memory Model’s first EP: ‘South American’ Flat Memory Model is one of my bands. By December, 2011, it’s got only one member, myself. I’m currently looking for other musicians in my zone (Mexico City) who are willing to join the band. This self-produced & self-recorded EP has been released in it’s physical form. Though I will be uploading the songs periodically. This band is mainly influenced by Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Beatles & Nirvana. This one should be better than the older crappy version i did, still some little mistakes, so there is some room for improvements here and there, but i think the Hughes & Kettner Tubefactor Pedal delivers a nice solo tone for this one………..On the other side,the overall tone is not the best ,because i’m forced to play through my isocab ,sadly, so no natural feedback harmonies included……………. Thank you Pink Floyd and David Gilmour for writing this timeless music………….
