Wish You Were Here turns 35 September 12….Wow. The long awaited follow up to one of rock n’ roll’s most successful albums–Dark Side Of The Moon relesed 2 and half years after DSOTM after an aborted project called Household Items. Paying tribute to founding member Syd Barrett,the band found themselves shocked when one day during recordings at Abbey Road,Syd,who hadn’t been seen in years showed up out of the blue totally unrecognizable,allegedly jumping up and down brushing his teeth. When asked what he thought about what they were recording,Syd made a parting quip and left back to Cambridge where he lived in obscurity til his death in 2006. Wish You Were Here has always been debated as the band’s best album…Certainly a favourite of Rick,Dave,Roger and Nick. Floydians all have their personal favourites,this is one of mine. The song clocks in at 13:44….Because of this,the song had to be edited so as much of the song as possible could be uploaded. I can’t wait for the day that Youtube increases their video time limit to a good 15 minutes. Sadly,that’ll probably never happen. The album is nothing new to most but if it’s new to you and you dig it,do yourself a favour and buy it…You won’t be able to stop listening to it. Cheers….

Pink Floyd – Raving and Drooling Los Angeles Sports Arena April 27,1975 Roger dedicates the song to Mr.Davis,Chief of police Los Angeles. Apparently,the LAPD was very busy busting people attending the concert….

Back to my original theme. From the Los Angeles Sports Arena April 27,1975 As was with the case of an earlier post from this concert,the SQ is not quite as good as the sources available for the concert the night before on April 26 BUT the sound quality is better than alot of other bootlegs. I’m sure most people have heard the Millard tapes from the 26th in the way of Cruel But Fair or Echoes From The Past Platinum Edition so I’m happy to post the very seldom sourced Millard tape from the night after….

Pink Floyd – Any Colour You Like Mike Millard Master Tape Los Angeles Sports Arena April 26,1975 Like the Wembley shows and the 1977 Oakland show,there are many sources from this concert.Many remastered like Cruel But Fair and Echoes From The Past Platinum Edition.The taper was Mike Millard who recorded many concerts in LA in the 70′s like the Floyd but more notably Led Zeppelin. IMO,the best source of this concert is Echoes From The Past Platinum Edition,hands down….Hey but every ear is different so what ever turns you on…………
