Source my Diamond Heart version is circulated Cochon Poduction DVD. Video is recoloured, dark-light wide. Audio is balanced in vocal range. From Cochon production notes: “You may notice at moments that the audio is out of synch. This is not due to a bad digital transfer or an error in the editing, it seems that when the show was recorded not all the cameras (if any) were recording the audio. Considering how hard film editing can be, some synchro troubles appeared on the original.” For best quality, you see fullscreened HD resolution monitor from 2-3 meter (VHS quality NO WONDER) in dark room. David Gilmour and Rick Wright provided the vocals. In the booklet of Zabriskie Point soundtrack’s reissue, there is a note about what David Gilmour said about the song in an interview; he described that the song’s “a kind of country & western number which he [Antonioni] could have gotten done better by any number of American bands. But he chose us ??” very strange.”… |

“Unknown Song” is an instrumental track written and recorded by the British psychedelic rock group Pink Floyd. It has been released only on a bonus disc included in the 1997 re-release of the soundtrack to Michelangelo Antonioni’s movie Zabriskie Point. The track is simple and consists of melodies that were used later; the riff that starts to play at 1:54 is similar to the one of the jamming part in “Atom Heart Mother”. The main melody played by acoustic guitar throughout the song is somewhat typical to the style band had later “A Pillow of Winds” or even “Brain Damage” can be heard as followers of the song’s melodies…. |
