“Remember a Day” is a song by British psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd, and is featured on their second album, A Saucerful of Secrets (1968). The song, written and sung by Richard Wright, was recorded in October 1967 at De Lane Lea Studios in London. The sessions also yielded “Jugband Blues”, “Vegetable Man”, “In the Beechwoods” and “John Latham”. It was performed in September 2008 by David Gilmour in memory of Wright. Syd Barrett plays the slide guitar. Andrew King, Pink Floyd manager, recalls: “I remember De Lane Lea… we did ‘Vegetable Man’ there… and ‘Remember a Day’, which Syd does a guitar solo on”. A rare US single release (Tower 440) contains edited mono versions of both songs. This single was never released in the UK….

“Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” written by Roger Waters and released in 1968 on the “A Saucerful of Secrets” album. The song also appeared on the album “Ummagumma” 1969 and here on the film “Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii” released in 1972. The song features Nick Mason using Timpani mallets on drums. The first, gentler vocals are performed by Richard Wright with Roger Waters whispering, the following, harder refrain by David Gilmour.
