“Coming Back to Life” is a song from Pink Floyd’s 1994 album The Division Bell, and is credited solely to David Gilmour. Gilmour has said (as can be heard in the David Gilmour in Concert DVD) that the song was written about his wife, Polly Samson. The song is played in C Major. It opens with a synth droning a C major chord, leading to a slow guitar solo played with a clean sound. The first verse is then sung slowly over synth chords, before the main rhythm of the song appears, and the rest of the band join the arrangement. Another verse is sung, and followed by a guitar solo. After this guitar solo, the last few lines of the verse are sung again, and then a guitar solo is played until the end of the song. Pink Floyd – High Hopes VIDEO (Spanish Subtitles – Subtítulos en Español) “High Hopes” es una canción del álbum de Pink Floyd de 1994, The Division Bell, escrita por David Gilmour y Polly Samson. Sus letras hablan de cosas que se han ganado y perdido en la vida, escrita desde un ángulo autobiográfico por Gilmour. Douglas Adams, un amigo de Gilmour, escogió el nombre del título de una de las letras de la canción, siendo ésta la última para el álbum, producto de un “destello de inspiración”, como lo nombraría Gilmour. El mánager de Pink Floyd, Steve O’Rourke, quien ejerció presión para ser incluido en alguno de los álbumes del grupo, aparece al final junto con el hijastro de Gilmour, Charlie, quien descuelga el teléfono a O’Rourke. El inicio de “High Hopes” se recuerda de otra de sus canciones, “Fat Old Sun”, del álbum previo “Atom Heart Mother”. Las campanas inician ambas piezas. El sonido del pájaro y de la mosca también pueden encontrarse en “Grantchester Meadows”, una canción del álbum de 1969, “Ummagumma”, escrita por Roger Waters. Siendo ésta la última canción que ha escrito Pink Floyd hasta la fecha (y su colocación al final de su último álbum del nuevo material hasta ahora) se presta a interpretación de que la canción narra la historia de la carrera de la banda, desde sus inicios, pasando por su grandioso éxito (con “Dark Side of the Moon” y “The Wall”) hasta su rompimiento y en adelante. Just doing a Protools recording of a quick improv with the Superchamp XD to showcase its sound. It’s a great little amp for recording and playing in the room. The amp is set to clean with reverb. The preamp tube was changed to a JJ ECC83 S Gold Pin and the speaker is the factory Fender speaker. Played through the Red Strat w/DG-20s….
