This is actually the live version from Pompeii. This is the long version. I’m not sure the lyrics are actually even said, I can’t hear them. Lyrics: Down, down. Down, down. The star is screaming. Beneath the lies. Lie, lie. Tschay, tschay, tschay. [sound of Waters blowing into the microphone] [light screaming from Waters] Careful, careful, careful with that axe, Eugene. [very loud and prolonged scream] [another very loud and prolonged scream] [Waters blowing into the microphone] [light screaming from Waters] The stars are screaming loud. Tsch. Tsch. Tsch. [low groaning sound from Waters] © 2010 I do not own this band or song in any way. I am not infringing the band or song at all. Track 3 off CD 3 of “A Treeful of Secrets”. This song was also part of “The Man and the Journey” concept. Lyrics: Wasting my time, Resting my mind And I’ll never pine For the sad days and the bad days When we was workin’ from nine to five. And if you don’t mind I’ll spend my time Here by the fire side In the warm light and the love in her eyes. And if you don’t mind I’ll spend my time Here by the fire side In the warm light of her eyes © 2010 I do not own this band or song in any way. I am not infringing the band or song at all. Track 2 off “More”. Lyrics: I was standing by the Nile When I saw the lady smile. I would take her out for a while, For a while. Oh, my tears wept like a child. How her golden hair was blowing wild. Then she spread her wings to fly, For to fly. Soaring high above the breezes, Going always where she pleases. She will make it to the islands in the sun. I will follow in her shadow As I watch her from my window. One day I will catch her eye. She is calling from the deep, Summoning my soul to endless sleep. She is bound to drag me down, Drag me down. © 2010 I do not own this band or song in any way…. |

Today (February 13) is Judy’s birthday. So what better time to upload her version of Syd Barrett’s immortal classic.Released in February 2006, just a few months before Syd’s death.I think he would have approved of her vocals which, like his own,are very much part of that English Tradition of singing in a distinct, ‘elocuted’ way rather than in the American style. Judy was Fairport Convention’s original female vocalist before she went on to Trader Horne. Since the Millenium she has enjoyed a renaissance of creativity and recorded four albums. This is from ‘Spindle’ on the Talking Elephants label. Simon House of High Tide and Hawkwind fame supports Judy in this song…. |
