A tribute to Syd Barrett by Roger DeLarge. Syd and Pink Floyd are huge inspirations for me so I thought it would be fitting to do a cover of one of Syd’s songs, and I choose “Scream thy last scream” simply because I love it! Considered by many to be Pink Floyd’s most unabashedly inspirational song. It was never a hit, not played much by Floyd in concert, ignored by radio and sits unassumingly as track three on the Floyd album “Meddle.” Many bands have covered it, including alterna-meisters Low and String Cheese Incident. Oh, and me. Truly a great song…. |
